Substance use among teenagers is a growing concern because of the negative impacts it can have on their physical, mental, and social well-being. JBRI Outpatient Services offers a substance use treatment program designed to help teenagers overcome their addiction and regain control of their lives.
“Our adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) uses an effective treatment approach especially tailored for teenagers,” said Vickie Butts, program director. “It’s important to meet teens where they are and give them information to help them make healthier choices.”
Benefits of Substance Use Treatment for Teens
At JBRI Outpatient Services, the adolescent IOP substance use treatment program helps teens in several important ways:
Our IOP provides a safe and supportive environment for teenagers to recover from their addiction. Our trained and certified professionals are experienced in helping teenagers overcome substance use. They provide a structured environment to help prevent relapse.
Through our Seven Challenges® treatment approach, we help teenagers identify the root causes of their addiction. Often, substance use is a symptom of underlying issues such as trauma, mental health conditions, or family dysfunction. Our evidence-based therapies help teenagers understand these issues and develop coping mechanisms to manage them without resorting to substance use. This process also can help teens develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their motivations, which can be essential to developing a sense of purpose and meaning in their life.
We help teenagers develop new skills and habits that can support their recovery. These may include communication skills, problem-solving skills, and stress management techniques. We also provide education on the dangers of substance use and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through good nutrition, exercise, and other aspects of wellness.
Our IOP group program gives teenagers a sense of community and connection. They can safely connect with others who are going through similar experiences. This can help to reduce feelings of isolation and provide a sense of belonging, which can be important for maintaining long-term recovery.
We can help teenagers rebuild their relationships with family and friends. Substance use can strain relationships and lead to feelings of mistrust and resentment. Involving the family and connecting the teen and their family with other resources can help to repair damaged relationships and support the teenager in rebuilding their social support network.
Our JBRI Outpatient Services adolescent IOP provides a proven approach that helps teenagers who struggle with substance use. We give them the support and resources they need to achieve long-term recovery.
